“See Spot. See Spot Run”

We won’t ask for a show of hands, but a great number of dog lovers learned to read with the help of a Cocker Spaniel named, “Spot,” an important character in the Dick and Jane reading primers. “Spot,” in fact, was included in more stories than Mother and Father combined. “See Spot. See Spot Run” wasn’t just a Canadian-American comedy film, it was the first sentence many of us first learned to read.
