Bullmastiff as Public Art

If you find yourself in Philadelphia and want to take in a bit of public art, visit the Fairmount Park at Fairmount Ave and 25th Street to see what just might be the world’s only publicly owned statue of a Bullmastiff. Created by sculptor, Victoria Davila, in 1989, the piece is entitled, “Gamekeeper’s Night Dog” and was a gift to the city of Philadelphia by a member of the Delaware Valley Bullmastiff Club, Edward H. Schwartz.
