The Dog as Accessory – Not a New Idea

After a decade of including dogs in its magazine’s fashion illustrations, Vogue Magazine wrote in 1929, “Dogs are so fashionable, these days, “that one wonders why they are not sold by the couturiers.”  If they only knew. Ahead of them was the likes of Paris Hilton who did indeed make the dog a fashion accessory.

Douglas Pollard’s interpretation of a fashionable woman of the times was wearing a timeless coat designed by Lavin and kept company by a pair of Cairn Terriers – a part of Lanvin’s “Pandone” collection of new tweeds worn for town or country.
