Meet the Catalan Sheepdog, the dog whose picture you see at the left. The breed’s origins are in the Andorra region of Spain where it’s been a versatile working dog for centuries. Also known as Perro De Pastor Catlan or Gos D’Atura Catalan, the breed is like many sheepdogs: Energetic, usually gentle, affectionate, friendly and protective. This appealing breed has a breed club in the UK (http://www.catalansheepdogclub.co.uk/) and is recognized by England Kennel Club. In 2006, it was recognized by the United Kennel Club.
