The Weimaraner comes in one color, one glorious, unique color that gave the breed its nickname, the Grey Ghost, but interestingly, Weimaraner puppies are born with apparent stripes that fade entirely after just a few days. It is one of the few breeds that do this, and isn’t it cool?

When the pups are born, their eyes don’t produce enough melanin to give them any distinctive color, so their eyes also change color—from piercing blue at birth to light amber, gray, or blue gray—as they mature.
