Five years ago, Mark Zuckerberg and his wife, Dr. Priscilla Chan, got their first Puli, a dog they named “Beast.”  Beast has an impressive Facebook following (over 2 million likes), and is a social media star in his own right. And then along came Baby Max (her Chinese name: Chen Mingyu).

Not long ago, Mark Zuckerberg reported that his daughter said her first word, an exciting moment for any parent. Not surprisingly (to us, anyway), one year old “Max” said, “dog” (“Puli” would probably have been too hard, we guess).  We know of another child who just uttered her first word, too, and it was “og,” short for dog. How many of you know of a person whose first word was the name of the family dog or its species?

If you listen careful at around the 11 second mark, you might be able to hear “Beast” shake and rattle the tags on his collar in the video below shared on the Chinese New Year.
