Artist’s Thoughts: I love to celebrate animals and the marks they make on the world. My process includes close observation and engagement of the subject, studying the light, and the values, which often inform the expressive quality and the individual personality of each animal; this process helps me to capture the unique “self” of each animal I paint. My goal is to inspire those who see my work to look more carefully at the world around them, to discover beauty and connection in all kinds of places.
