Alex Hart’s “Novice A: I Have No Idea What I’m Doing!” Photo Challenge

Whether you’ve been competing in dog sports for years, or are considering competing in the future, we all start off as beginners! In many dog sports, this means entering the “Novice A” class—the class reserved for first-time competitors.

We welcome first time sponsor, Alex Hart and her photo challenge,”Novice A: I Have No Idea What I’m Doing,” the theme of which is to take a lighthearted look at the challenges we all faced—or plan to face—as we work on figuring out how to do these sports with our dogs.

The challenge:

• Depict a dog sport in your photo in an identifiable way and display an error being made in that sport;
• For this challenge, “dog sport” means any activity performed with your dog in which it earns a title from an organization (i.e. AKC, UKC, etc);
• When submitting the photo entry, you must indicate the name of the dog sport in addition to the name of this contest;
• Entries will be judged on the how clearly and how humorously the dog sport and the error are depicted.

The prize: The prize: A handmade ceramic dog dish (approximately 6” in diameter and 2” in height) and an Orvis Paws and Bones Recycled Water Trapper Mat (18” x 27.75”)

The Sponsor: Alex Hart
