Steampunk is a marvelous category of science fiction that fuses the future with 19th-century industrial steam-powered machinery. Steampunk “fashion” is a quirky and highly creative blend of garb worn in the 1800s blended with the future, and sometimes with a touch of the post-apocalypse. And dogs are not left behind!
National Purebred Dog Day is delighted to welcome first time sponsor, Graymatter Animals, the Animal Talent Agency, and do they have a fun contest for you!
The challenge: Dig through hardware in the garage, borrow vintage accoutrements, and put on your creative cap because your goal is to turn your dog into a “Steampunk Pup.” Don’t forget to include NPDD’s sign or merchandise (see below), and sure, you can incorporate it as a prop. We promise that when you do an image search on-line for “steampunk dog,” you will get a lot of ideas.

•••• One entry per person; You may enter four different photo challenges. If you enter this one, you may enter three more;
•••• When submitting your photo entry on Facebook, you must indicate the name of this contest, Graymatter Animals;
•••• Your entry must be for the 2023 contest. Photos submitted from previous years’ contests will be disqualified, and yes, we remember photos from one year to the next;
•••• Within the photo, your image must include a purebred dog and one of the following either downloaded from the link or handmade:

•••• No photoshopping, and that includes the required sign which is required to be part of the composition. Be creative with how you use it! Our judges, David Frei, co-host of NBC’s National Dog Show, and Westminster Kennel Club photographer, Jack Grassa, must see what you actually shot with your camera;
•••• Many people may help you take your photo, but the prize goes to the person submitting the winning photograph;
