Australian Terrier Club of America’s “Sticky Beak” Photo Challenge

We are thrilled to welcome the return of 2024 sponsor, the Australian Terrier Club of America, stewards of the plucky, spirited, and intelligent Australian Terrier. In honor of this keen and smart little terrier, the Australian Terrier Club of America is sponsoring the “Sticky Beak” Australia photo challenge.

•••••

Sticky Beak  /ˈstɪkibiːk/

Definition:

  • Noun (Singular: stickybeak, Plural: stickybeaks)

    • Colloquial term used in Australia to describe one who is excessively curious or nosy;

    • Verb: Looking at or watching something, especially something that does not directly concern the one looking

The challenge: The Australian Terrier is a small package loaded with curiosity and grit;  your entry should show a dog equally spirited in his or her quest to explore the unfamiliar – and their response: Judges will be looking for photographs that highlight the dog’s inquisitive nature. This could be demonstrated through a tilted head, raised eyebrows, or a puzzled expression as the dog investigates unusual objects, sniffs around, or peeks over or under something. The key is to provide clear evidence of the dog’s “nosy nature” in action.

The prize:  $100 Visa cash card
