Artist’s Thoughts:  The dogs I chose were personally known to me. A friend of mine was breeding Chesapeake Bay Retrievers and I thought I need to paint her stunning stud dog Remy. His pose is beautifully lit, but more importantly it encapsulates the qualities of this breed, a sturdy, determined and fearless retriever. The Shetland Sheepdog was a neighbor’s dog and I loved that delightful, energetic little puffball. This painting clearly depicts these qualities. The sweet Cavalier was one of my girls.
