If you’re unfamiliar with the Mythbusters, you’re in for a treat.  The validity of myths, Old Wives Tales, rumors, and adages are tested in this science-through-entertainment TV show by the show’s hosts, Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage, using scientific methods. In the episode, “Baffling a Bloodhound,” they explore whether throwing a bloodhound off a scent is as easy as it’s portrayed in the movies. If we’re to believe Hollywood, running through a creek is enough to thwart a Bloodhound on your scent. It’s not what Mythbusters found, not the first time they tried it, and not the second time when three years later, they tried new tricks with the same dog and handler. Defeated by the dog not once, but twice,  MythBusters (and the Bloodhound) confirmed that you can’t beat a Bloodhound.
