Artist’s Thoughts: Each painting [that was submitted] was either a gift or a commission, and I always ask what are the most important aspects of this pet to include–a certain look in the eyes, a pose, a favorite toy, a marking in the fur? When owners start telling me about their pets, they can’t stop, and soon I feel like I know the pet, too. [My two]  Jack Russells are related, but one is scruffy with perpetual bed head, and the other is a prim lady who reminds her owner of this fact every day.
