If you’re ever in Buenos Aires, Argentina, look for the bronze sculpture of three Borzoi located in the Plaza Monseñor de Andrea near Córdoba Avenue and the Jean Jaures, Recoleta neighborhood. Created in 1914 by the Italian sculptor, medallist, and illustrator, Giacomo Merculiano, this sculpture in the round was not the only time the artist depicted the breed. In fact, it’s evident from his body of work that Merculianos either admired the breed, or simply loved rendering its elegant lines.
