We welcome the return of sponsor, Certified Master Groomer, Jennifer Bishop-Jenkins to National Purebred Dog Day, who reprises a really fun photo challenge.
A corded coat is great – unless it’s on an Afghan Hound. And a soft, silky coat? Not so welcomed on Wirehaired Pointing Griffon. Most of us have suffered a “bad hair day,” and dogs have them too! “Owner error” accounts for some grooming disasters, but sometimes, it’s more important to the dog to find the squirrel under the deck than to succumb to the brush or comb in your hand. And make no mistake, short coated breeds can go cattywampus, too.
The challenge: Your task is to catch your dog having a bad hair day without artificial manipulation (read: keep it real and keep it safe). It might be a photo you snap after the dog emerges from under the bed. Maybe it’s hair that happens in a bath, or after. And grooming debacles happen – just don’t forget the sign!
