Do you know the name, Pete Curley? Ok, maybe you recognize the dog?
Pete Curley is shown here with his daughter, Claire, and one of his “TNT” prefix Dogue De Bordeaux back in 1989. It was Curley who imported four Dogues (Barry, Beasley, Vigor and Cristo), two of whom appeared in the Touchstone Picture movie, “Turner and Hooch.” It was “Beasley” (later owned and trained by Clint Rowe) who appeared with Tom Hanks, and as an aside, Clint Rowe made a brief appearance in the movie as an ASPCA officer, and “Vigor” was used as Beasley’s ” stuntdog.”
For many people, “Beasley” (or “Hooch” was their first exposure to the breed (and he was ten years old at the time!). Beasley went on to live four more years.
