Few breeds can claim to have as all-encompassing a view of tails in its breed standard as does the Swedish Vallhund. From the AKC standard: Tail may be natural (long, stub, or bob) or docked. All are equally acceptable. The breed also known as the Västgötaspets dates back over 1000 years to the time of the Vikings when it may have been known as the “Vikingarnas Dog,” plenty of time to sort out tails.
