Have you seen the latest issue of the New Yorker Magazine? The cover by artist, Mark Ulriksen, is entitled “Off the Leash,” and features purebred dogs including a Bull Terrier, Corgi, Poodle, Labrador Retriever and Beagle! Can you spot the other purebred dogs?
Of this piece, Ulriksen says, “When you have kids, you take them to the playground; and when you have dogs, you take them to the park…some of our favorite neighbors come from the dog park. We see them every day, even if we didn’t know their names for six months. Puppies learn from bigger dogs, and everyone gets to socialize.”
The artist of the July 10/17, 2017 cover is not a stranger to portraying purebred dogs in his art. Check out, “Dog Show,” or “Active San Francisco: Fort Funston,” both of which are available as prints.
