Our “Not Just Another Pretty Face” series has been introducing you to dogs who are not just beautiful examples of their breed, but are dogs whose achievements underscore their ability to do the job for which their breed was created. In the case of a breed developed to be a companion animal, owners often discover how much more their dogs can do besides serve as great friends (note: In Canada, the Eurasier is part of the Working group).
Meet “Arnold,” a three year old Eurasier also known as CAN CH Naku’s Major Dutch Shaefer CGN CD RE TT. “Arnold” is closing in on his Grand Championship points, and at the time we first heard about him, he was one leg away from his RAE, the Rally Advanced Excellent title. To get this title, dogs must achieve qualifying scores (70 or more out of 100) in both the Advanced and Excellent classes in the same trial ten times. A dog can start earning legs for RAE once s/he has finished the Rally Excellent title. Arnold is the first Eurasier in North America to achieve RE or higher.
CH Spinfandel Little Miss Firecracker CGC TKN also know as Gladys 2 year old Spinone Italiano. Gladys is also hunt training, rally, barn hunt and therapy dog training. The fall we hope to start training in scent and tracking. Gladys is named after her owners beloved grandmother.
