The Russkaya Psovaya Borzaya – or Borzoi – has been an integral part of the national culture and Russian history for over nine hundred years. 9 centuries. The French Chronicle of the XIth century, in fact, shows that three Borzois accompanied Anna Iaroslavna, the daughter of the Grand, Duke of Kiev, when she arrived in France to marry Henri I. Many famous people have owned this breed, and not surprisingly, Russian Tsars and poets. They include Ivan the Terrible, Peter the Great, Nicolas II and Pushkin Turgenev.
