In a different post, we mentioned that “paper doll dogs” are still around, though a bit more modern than the ones some of us played with as kids. We suppose this post is about the 21st century version of those old paper dolls: 3D printing model making. It takes paper, glue, and about five hours to build this paper Pug at the left. How it works is that one pays for the template, downloads the 2D template, then follows detailed instructions to create (in this case) a life size Pug. What a cool and unusual thing to have for oneself, or as a gift to breed owner. We can also see these at a national specialty.
PaperAmazeDigital offers templates in several different breeds, as well as party masks. If they don’t offer your breed, a search on Etsy for “DIY Papercraft dog” brings up a lot more options. Within several seconds, we found that EBURgami offers a template for free standing Doberman Pinschers, Studio66Designs has a design for this French Bulldog, and this Dachshund by NokaPaperArt can be made in patterned or solid colored paper. A novel idea!
