Occasionally, and mostly on-line or Craigslist, one will see reference to a “King” Doberman, or a “Superior” or “Excelsior” Doberman. No such thing, people. These are marketing ploys by unscrupulous breeders used to promote oversized Doberman Pinschers. Dobermans are medium-sized, square bodied dogs who ideally stand about about 27½ inches at the withers, or at the base of the neck above the shoulders.
