“Old dogs, like old shoes, are comfortable. They might be a little out of shape and a little worn around the edges, but they fit well.” – Bennie Wilcox
Few things tug at the heart strings like a veteran dog. They’ve given us years of love and loyalty, know our likes and dislikes, and body willing, always want to do what we want to do. They aren’t too old to make new friends, however, and in this challenge, photographers are tasked to portray a veteran dog (seven years and older) with a special friend (animal or human, it doesn’t matter). Tug at our judges’ heartstrings, make them reach for a tissue, and if a laugh can come in with the tears, your image might be the winner!
The Challenge: We welcome back as a sponsor, a wonderful supporter of NPDD, Betsy Copeland. This year, she challenges photographers to interpret the theme, “”Old Dogs, New Friends;”
The prize: A 5″ x 7 ” Pewter/Copper Etching by Walker Works in the breed of the winner’s choice. The image seen here doesn’t begin to do justice to these incredible etchings.
