In the roundabout entrance to the Promenade of Ibiza is a monument to the Ibizan Hound designed by Andreu Moreno. The unique piece made of fiber and bronze weighs nearly 120 kb and portrays a large open hand on which are placed seven of the iconic dogs posed in different hunting positions. It was an initiative that was part of an application the Association of Ca Eivissenc made in 2008 to Conseli to give the native breed the recognition it deserved in the very place of its origin. Sadly, the monument was vandalized in 2012 and as of a year later, two of the seven bronze dogs had not yet been restored. If someone has an update on this, we’d love to hear from you.
