you get what you pay for. The real goal of breeding is, IMPO, to produce better offspring than the parents – be it dogs or hogs, cats or rats; If you cannot/will not do what it takes to do that, then, again IMPO, you might want to rethink calling yourself a ‘breeder’; you are a ‘producer’.
Dogs of any stripe make fabulous companions full of love to give, but with that said, we can’t disagree with you, Kathryn. The goal of an ethical heritage breeder IS to improve upon the parents (what do they” say? “Breed the best to the best and hope for the best?”)
