The University of Ontario Institute of Technology is, to our knowledge, the only school with a Rhodesian Ridgeback as its mascot.
Athletes are called “Ridgebacks” because the Rhodesian Ridgeback is a well muscled hunting dog that’s strong, competitive by nature, lightning quick and deftly alert. Bottom line, the breed has qualities any athletic competitor would want.  Go team!
