Artist’s Thoughts:  I thought it would be real cute to have a bunch of dogs staring up at a billboard on a brick wall, of a bunch of dogs!! And then I thought, there should be a couple of dogs peaking out the window looking out at the dogs on the street. I thought balloons would be a cuter way to do the letters than just a banner. I just wanted to create something happy and fun – and just bring a smile to your face.

This painting makes me smile! My husband came up with the concept – and then I ran with it and it became bigger than initially planned. More dogs! I thought – what a celebration of dogs this painting will be! The dogs I used were truly based on diversity – because I wanted each one to be different from the next. A golden retriever and a pug had to be in there, as those are my daughter’s favorite breeds. I also wanted to represent a few breeds that I have never heard of.
