Feast your eyes on hand-built ceramic teapot made in the form of a vintage Converse sneaker from which emerges the sculpted and carved head of a white Chihuahua puppy.
Made of stoneware clay, the slab-constructed hollow shoe is the main chamber of the teapot. The pouring spout is the sculpted and hollowed puppy’s snout, the lid, in the shape of a buckle, is behind the dog’s neck as part of its collar to which was added cubic zirconium. The piece was created on consignment for the Mobilia Gallery Invitational Exhibition back in 2012. It was available for purchase at $750, but no word if it sold. Suddenly, the teapot from Costco looks boring.
