Feathering in the CKC

The “fringy” hair that’s long, silky and straight, and usually seen on the ears, back of the front legs, thighs and chest of certain breeds is called “feathering.” It’s not just an endearing feature of the Cavalier King Charles, it’s mentioned three times in the breed standard.
