When asked what would surprise people most about their breed, owners of Japanese Chins were almost unanimous when they opined that their breed is cat-like.
Most Chins love heights, and they especially love “looking down on their kingdom.” These dogs lick themselves clean like a cat (wiping themselves clean with their paws), and they can not only jump like a cat, but like resting on sofa arms or chairs, and can walk across a table without disturbing a thing on it. They are very clean, and quieter than many other toy breeds, and indeed, they can use a litter box like a cat. The Japanese Chin is considered one of the most cat-like among all dog breeds.
Chin owners, do you agree?
