It’s a little strange, but it’s a toe-tapper – and if you turn up the volume on the video below, it’s also an epic way to WAKE YOU UP on this Friday morning:

You can learn more about the story behind the video by the punk rock band, The Offspring, here, but the short of it is that it uses a Great Dane as a metaphor for irresponsible men. We’ll leave it at that because the more interesting story (to us, anyway) is the biography of The Offspring’s primary songwriter, Dexter Holland. He graduated from Garden Grove’s Pacifica High School as its valedictorian, has a PhD in Molecular Biology from USC (his work included a 175-page dissertation examining the molecular dynamics of HIV and the way the virus interacts with its host), and after he got his pilot license, he flew solo around the world in ten days. He also runs marathons, is a philanthropist, and has his own hot sauce company that has sold over one million bottles and is available in over 500 restaurants. We know that he walked the family dogs every morning as a kid,  but not what, if any, breed they were.
