The new phone books are here, the new phone books are here! We lie. Equally as exciting, however, is that the 2016 Vladimir Putin calendar is out. Twelve months of photos show the Russian president posing as he fishes topless, hoists a rifle (topless), and cuddles a puppy (both President and puppy are fully clothed).
The calendar called “All Year With The President Of Russia” also features words of wisdom from the leader; the quote accompanying the photo of Putin and the puppy confides: “Dogs and I have very warm feelings for one another.”
The puppy Putin hugging is an Alabai, also known as Central Asian Sheepdog, Central Asian Owtcharka, Middle Asian Shepherd Dog, Central Asian Ovcharka, Turkmen Alabai, and Aziat. Reportedly, Berdymukhamedov said to Putin, “We have a common friend. This is the world’s unique Alabai dog. And today I brought this little alabai with me,”
The pup was named “Verny” which means “faithful” in Russian.
