Try as we might, we couldn’t find much information about Ruth Crockett or her Poodle. We know that she played a keyboard. We know that she recorded an album that included songs of a religious nature, including, “I’m Longing To See Jesus,” “The Old Rugged Cross,” and “When All Is Done.” And we know that the album was issued in Canada. What we’re absolutely certain of is that the album cover is epic. Seriously. Between the beribboned Poodle, cats-eyes eyeglasses, and the up-do hair style, the album harkens back to a gentler time. Our kids would roll their eyes and dismiss it as hokie. Maybe so. But Ruth loved her Poodle enough to include it on the cover of what appears to be the only album she ever recorded. We can’t help but suspect we might have liked Ruth.
