Papillon owners, when they gush how little your dog is, whip out this baby and show them what a “little Papillon” really looks like.
This tiny gem was created by Kerri Pajutee who begins each miniature animal sculpture with an outline sketch to scale which she references while building a framework of wire, then constructing the clay form (larger scale animals require a skeleton of copper wire and aluminum foil wrapped in masking tape). Each sculpture is built in stages using both addition and subtraction techniques. The initial shape is hand-formed by adding layers of polymer clay over the armature, and multiple bakings are required with each addition of clay. Eyes are glass rounds, no-hole beads, or UV resin, and are set into the raw clay prior to the final oven cure. Pajutee’s forms are really quite remarkable.
She accepts a limited number of commissions each year. See more of her puppies and dogs here.
