Baratier’s Coat of Arms

The city of Baratier is described as a commune in southeastern France, home to some 540 inhabitants.  In the Middle Ages, there were two fiefs, or overlords of the village, the Bayle de Baratier family, and Verdun, and when it came to administration and judicial matters,  Baratier depended on Embrun. Baratier’s coat of arms, which prominently features a Greyhound, however, is what is now the coat of arms for the municipality.
