Artist’s Thoughts: Besides being a dog owner, I volunteer at our local shelter. I do see purebreds come into the shelter for one reason or another and need good loving forever homes homes just as much as the mixed breeds. All dogs, purebred and mixed are all so unique in their personalities. Although I must say American Pitbulls are just big puddles of love, I swear they could survive on love alone. I am not just saying that because I own one either. I”ve also owned beagles. I adore their beagley bark, curiousity and their loyalty. Beagles are easy to love even when you are up all night trying to wash skunk smell off of them.
Painting Details: 11″ x 15″
I chose my late Beagle Max as my muse for this contest. Max lived a long happy life passing away at 15 a few years ago. No matter his age it never slowed him or his nose down. I wanted to capture the love of our dear family member who is greatly missed. I painted abstract in order to allow each and every beagle owner to see their beloved dog in the image.
