Artist’s Thoughts: “Over the past few years, I’ve created more than a hundred custom pet portraits in watercolor. The majority of these are dogs representing a large number of diverse breeds. I find the uniqueness of each breed fascinating and a joy to capture the essence of them in watercolor. When I read the call for entry, I challenged myself to bring together breeds from across the different AKC groups. As I worked with them, I began to see how each contributed to a whole greater than any would be on its own. It is indeed the purebred heritage of each that makes them stronger and beautiful together.

Beauties beautifully presented! The judges must have had such a difficult job this year, with so many high quality entries presented, but this is certainly a very worthy winner!
