We love all dogs, and maybe it’s just us, but we’ve noticed that when it comes to the dogs we live with, dog people can be divided into those who love hairy breeds, and those who prefer less hairy breeds. As Puli owners, we must love hair, but some breeds lend themselves to more creativity than others. Behold the Shih Tzu.
The Shih Tzu “bubble” (a slang term) is an effect created by grooming the Shih Tzu’s topknot to provide the head with a round and broad appearance. a “bloused” topknot” is a grooming technique used to create a looser, fuller topknot. Overdone, and it might be interpreted as a ruse to disguise a lack of foreskull. In a show ring during examination, a judge might gently slip an index finger under the topknot to determine the dog’s actual head shape.
If you show your Shih Tzu, share with us in the comments section below their photo so that we might see more “bubbles?”
