One of Australia’s most popular and well known beaches situated in eastern Sydney is Bondi Beach. Packed with locals and tourists alike, the beach is also home to the Bondi Beach Graffiti Wall that had its roots in the late 70s as street artists were experimenting with spray art (what our parents called graffiti). The wall wasn’t “legal,” as such, but in the late 80s, local youth group leaders proposed that the wall be made into a “community wall” that would channel the energy of young artists.
This set the tone for the area which has since become as known for its murals as Graffiti Wall. One of the wall murals is a piece done by Graham Hoete, aka Mr G, a street artist known for his paintings and illustrations of dogs, particularly bully breeds. One of our favorites is entitled, “Happy Staffys,” a nice tribute to a terrific breed.
You can follow Mr. G on his Facebook page and on Instagram.
