America has the Greyhound Bus line, and the Republic of Ireland has Bus Éireann, the national bus company established in February 1987 when it was split out from the Córas Iompair Éireann. The company logo incorporates an Irish Setter, certainly because of its Irish roots, but also because the dog represents the “friendly, reliable and fast way in which the company aims to serve its customers.”
One of the company’s more recent campaigns is, ‘Buster & The Beltups.’ Bus Éireann’s cartoon mascot, ‘Buster’, is joined by characters called ‘The Beltups’ who collectively are on a mission to encourage children to wear seat belts while traveling on the school bus.
Take a look at one of their commercials from a few years ago:
I have a bus eirreann poster with an Irish setter alongside a beautiful red hair model from circa 1990 or earlier
Who us the model ?!
Does the dog on the side of the bus have a pet name
