All the “best people” will be there (including Ann Boleyn – we hope she has her head on straight). It’s the Dandie Dinmont Terrier Spring Time Walk, and for our friends in the UK (and any “yanks” who might be crossing the pond in time), it’s a wonderful chance to see one of the world’s rare dog breeds in a fabulous venue: Ann Boleyn’s childhood home. Here are the particulars:
Date: Saturday May 28th 2016
Hever Castle
Hever Road, Hever, Edenbridge, Kent TN8 7NG
Gather at the venue carpark from 11:30pm for a 12 noon start
All Dandie Dinmont Terrier owners and enthusiasts are invited together with or without their Dandies. Other well behaved breeds will also be welcome
Discover magnificent gardens set in 125 acres of glorious grounds. Marvel at the Pompeiian wall and classical statuary in the Italian Garden; admire the giant topiary chess set and inhale the fragrance of over 4,000 rose bushes in the quintessential English Rose Garden. The Loggia, overlooking the 38-acre lake, is the perfect spot to relax before exploring the many cascades, grottoes and fountains. (no dogs inside the Castle please)
This is a great opportunity to meet lots of other Dandie Dinmonts and their owners in this stunning setting. The walk is gentle and relaxed and will normally take about 60/90 minutes – However this may be subject to delays due to numerous questions, photo calls and Dandies sniffing etc!
On the day we visit, Hever will be staging their “Edwardian Life” event – go back in time to the early 20th century and enjoy a fascinating glimpse of the Edwardian era just before WWI when the Astors were in residence.
LOTS of Public to meet the Dandies and lots of photo opportunities!
Hever Castle is located about 20 minutes from J5 (Sevenoaks) on the M25 and about 30 minutes from J6 (Godstone), three miles south of Edenbridge.
Please check out the web site: http://www.hevercastle.co.uk/
Let the organizers know if you can make it so they know how many to expect. All Dandie enthusiasts welcome – and you’re asked to invite any others you may know!
