Artist’s Thoughts: I chose 12 breeds. This consists of the Bavarian Mountain Scent Hound, Nederlandse Kooikerhondje, Pug, Chihuahua, Maltese, Airedale Terrier, Great Dane, Basset Hound, Belgian Laekenois, Norwegian Lundehund, Teddy Roosevelt Terrier, and Dachshund. I attempted to have a mix of breeds that were popular as well as those that I personally had not heard of. I felt that including a diverse selection would help to show how vast the amount of dog breeds there is, not just in number, but also in appearance. I like to use bright colors to convey a positive image and fill the image with doodle-like drawings to keep it fun and engaging. I did this and kept the dogs as the main subjects to represent the excitement I feel when celebrating our furry friends.
