Artist’s Thoughts:   Flopsy was a Shih Tzu belonging to my sister, making me her Auntie. My sister has owned Shih Tzus since 1974, and I have loved them all, but Flopsy and I had a special bond. I paint mostly miniature landscapes in acrylic, but wanted to try doing a animal. What better choice than dear little Flopsy? Flopsy was rendered in colored pencil on toned Colourfix paper. I chose colored pencil in order to recreate the details of the many shades and tones of her beautiful hair.
