“George” (the Great Dane) and Bella: AKC Humane Fund ACE Award Winners

You might remember the story we shared a while back of “George,” the Great Dane Service Dog belonging to 10 year old, “Bella,” who has been diagnosed with Morquio Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that makes mobility exceeding difficult. Before George came along, Bella relied on a wheelchair or crutches for mobility, but now she leans on George. They are inseparable. George came from the Service Dog Project, an organization that has donated over 100 Great Danes as service dogs to individuals who have severe balance and mobility limitations.  George and Bella are one of the winners of the AKC Humane Fund Awards for Canine Excellence (ACE) which commemorate five loyal, hard-working dogs that have significantly impacted the lives of their owners and people in their communities.
