Just in time for the holidays is a breed born with a festive coat. You know this breed, it’s famous for its smile!
The Samoyed‘s breed standard calls for a coat that is pure white, white and biscuit, cream, or all biscuit – but it raises the bar by also indicating that “the coat should glisten with a silver sheen.” Perhaps a Samoyed owner can tell us what makes the coat glisten?

I was stewarding for a friend who was judging Samoyeds when one entered the ring sans “glisten.” The white was flat, matte finish and the biscuit was a dark brown. As he was marking his book my friend quietly said to me “I know they can have biscuit but, burned biscuit?”
