Artist’s Thoughts:  Our family now has 3 purebred Shih Tzu girls. Each of the girls has their own personality but they are all incredibly smart, spunky and kind. I have begun a series of dog portraits recently (or “paw-traits”) which has quickly become a favorite subject of mine. Not only am I completing commissions but portraits of my own girls in attempt to capture both their likeness and personality. I’m presenting a portrait of my dog, Holly. Hers is not the traditional portrait. But, I think it shows her spirit and why we all love dogs so much; because of their playfulness, their heart and their ability to make us smile!
