Before you go thinking that we’re writing about your dog, Hyperdog (aka Sergeant Kemlo Caesar) is a super bright Doberman Pinscher who has an excellent understanding of human culture, language and psychology. His intelligence and speech are human-level, and when hanging out, he has a fondness for wearing big open shirts with South Pacific motifs, maybe a straw hat, and his favorite item, a black T-shirt with “DOG” written in huge white letters. On the job, however, Hyperdog wears a robotic exoskeleton that gives him hands and lets him walk like a human. Not vivid enough for you yet? It gets better.
Kemlo (Hyperdog) is a “people person” who has a way with words. He’s a cop working in a city where everyone, from the police and criminals to civilians and kids have super powers. Hyperdog is good at his job (he tracked down and arrested the Libra Serial Killer!) and single handedly holds together his super-powered police force. In true Doberman fashion, he is clearly leadership material, but has a soft heart. He falls in love with Neural ‘Nette, a former hooker, and despite the whole different species thing, the pair get married and adopt a young Anubis-headed girl. Doesn’t everyone?
Hyperdog is a character from the Top 10, a superhero comic book series published by the America’s Best Comics imprint of Wildstorm, an imprint of the famous DC Comics. The world of comic books engenders its own subculture, but that doesn’t preclude using a purebred dog as a super hero. Rock on, Hyperdog.
