Artist’s Thoughts:  I painted Lacey as a commission for a friend of mine who wanted to surprise her husband with this gift. Lacey was a much beloved black lab who passed away many years ago. I wanted the personality of the dog to stand out so I put a lot of emphasis on her eyes. Her husband teared up when he saw it so I accomplished my goal.
