Artist’s thoughts: I have owned Dobermans since 1985 when I got my first Doberman, Jake. I had never owned a dog before, and I knew little about the breed except they were the most beautiful dogs I had ever seen. In the 12 amazing years I shared with Jake, he saved my life twice, became the joy and light of my life, my partner, my hero, and the focus of my life. My artwork of Dobermans has been featured on the front covers of five national purebred dog magazines, I have been commissioned to create the official logo for three AKC parent clubs (Doberman Pinscher Club of America, Puli Club of America, Border Collie Society of America). Most of my income comes from creating artworks of dogs for clients. So purebred dogs in general – and Dobermans specifically – have been my life, my heart, my hobby, and my livelihood
