For our Poodle friends, an image we came across on Pinterest. The poster was created by Lynda Barry, an alternative cartoonist whose work first appeared in the Real Comet Press founded by Cathy Hillenbrand in 1981. Barry had some successful books that included “Big Ideas,” and “The Good Times are Killing Me” and her “Poodle with a Mohawk” poster (“You’ll never call him Fifi again!”- bwwaaaa) showed up on a lot of dorm room walls. Barry, however, may be best known for her weekly comic strip, Ernie Pook’s Comeek. Comics Alliance listed Barry as one of twelve women cartoonists deserving of lifetime achievement recognition, and these days, she’s an Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
I had it on my wall. Thank you Lynda Barry
Honestly, Melissa, we don’t know where you’d find it now, but we bet you could save the image onto a file, load the file onto a flash drive, and see if a copy center can make a poster of it for you. Mind you, there may be copyright issues…
I had this poster in college and really want to get a copy. Do you know if/where this would be available?
I have a copy for sale on Mercari
I also owned this poster as a college student. Poster was lost along the way. Very disappointing. Recently went on eBay and found it from spokesman14. I spent much more than I did when I bought it but I have the means now and was well worth it!!
